Comment on ALCHEMY GOODS IN AMERICAN CRAFT SHOW by Susan Walther http://alchemygoods.com/blog/2008/02/02/alchemy-goods-in-american-craft-show/#comment-391 Thu, 01 May 2008 16:51:04 +0000 http://alchemygoods.com/blog/2008/02/02/alchemy-goods-in-american-craft-show/#comment-391 I loved seeing you at the ACC; I thought the particular section (young, up-and-coming artists focused on beautifully designed products using recycled goods) was the best part of the show--and I've been coming for several years. I'd like to continue a conversation started there, about using advertising mesh for draperies. Our MBedroom in a Baltimore rowhouse will have a window approximately 14' wide x 8.5' tall. Is it feasible to make 2 panels, 8'-9' x 8.5', with grommeted top hem and finished bottom hem, to hang from a slender steel rod? We'd slide the panels onto the rod, and open and shut the drapes by hand. We'd expect some degree of privacy with the mesh, and we're open to a wide variety of designs and colors (preferably left-overs from architectural or art sites, or sports, or events--no alcohol ads, though--it's near a college campus!). Let me know if fabricating and shipping the drapes to B'more would be too expensive to justify keeping the mesh out of a landfill. Keep up the good work!
